P246 D code

My 2013 6.7 L which has been pretty flawless. All summer has been kind of throwing the P246D code. No other issues so all the tutorials say that this is a pressure differential correlation error between the DPF A and B pressure sensors. I have now replaced both sensors and also the pigtail connectors for both sensors and the same error still shows up and when it does, then the computer goes into regeneration approximately every 90 miles so that the DPF does not clog up obviously, I cannot find any manual that tells me what the pressure reading should be for both sensors. Can anybody help me with this because I don’t know what to do. I took it to a Ford dealer and They don’t know what to do and they want to just throw a new DPF on it with all new sensors which Include the EGT sensors the NOX sensors and pressure sensors again for a total bill of about $15,000 which includes labor. I have also done manual region and system calibration after the sensors were replaced and that worked for a while, but then the code came back again. Am I missing anything here? The truck has 152,000 miles on it and no weight loss program yet. The weird part is I can go 2,000 miles with no code and everything fine with regens every 500-600 miles and then the code all of a sudden is back again.

The dpf/scr costs about 3500 bucks. Then the labor for the install and re-calibration. They are taking you to the cleaners on the 15K bill.

Have you gone out and did a heavy tow with it?

how is your def usage? still about the same?

EGR ok and how is your air filter?

I agree to the cleaners they quoted me $9,800 for the DPF alone.

DEF usage is the same, no EGR codes at all, new air filter, new MAP sensor, and both DPFP sensors and pigtails.

i am always towing a 25K 50’ horse trailer other then that it doesn’t get used.

i am thinking I need to Manuel regen it and recalibrate everything maybe it needs to relearn after DPFP sensors where replaced. Just beyond frustrated because I can find any stats on what they should be reading.

thanks

yes a recalibration is needed once you replace those sensors or the rocket.

assuming you don’t have sensor issues….

Me personally would remove the scr/dpf and clean it.

30 gallon drum, soak one end for a few days, then flip it over and soak the other end.

power wash it out with a wide nozzle

reinstall and do an ocr.

plenty of videos on you tube on how to chemically clean an scr/dpf.

i picked up a spare dpf on for my previous truck and after chemically cleaning it it had a better flow rate than the dpf I had with 89k miles.

Alternatively there are plenty of trucks out there that are loosing weight…just buy the excess baggage .

But…the diagnoses by the dealer to replace the scr/dpf does not sound very scientific to me.
