help code 173
Im getting a code 173 along with this code im getting terriable milage, I just did the tune up on it and it did need one. However the engine light remins on.
It is a 94 4.0 with 122000. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also be sure to reset the computer after you perform the repair by disconnecting the battery for 2 mins. If the engine light remains on you still have the computer is still picking up an error.

My 94, 3.0, 186,000 mi., intermittently gave codes 172 and 173. (O2 sensor not switching, is or was running lean or rich.) Changed O2 sensor, no more codes. A little better gas mileage also. Real easy to do. Didn't even have to jack it up. Needed a pipe wrench to unscrew the old one, that was the only difficulty. Reachable from the ground on the passenger side.
