2018 ford f150 raptor
my horn stopped working. It doesn't work when I press on the steering wheel and it doesn't work from the key fob either. I replaced the fuse and it didn't help. When I was in the fuse box and replaced the fuse I hit the key fob and no horn but I did hear like a clicking sound. Any ideas what the problem is?
Thanks!
which fuse did you replace? was it blown? If so, inspect the wiring from there to the horn for shorts (including the horn itself).
if the fuse wasn't blown, do you have 12 volts on either side of the fuse when pressing the horn button? If you do, inspect the wiring from the fuse to the horns for an open circuit (including making sure the horn is connected and horn operational).
If no voltage present at the fuse when pressing the horn button, possibly the body control module is bad (not providing power out to the horn circuit/fuse.
by using an automotive test light or voltmeter on the DC setting. ground the black lead and check for voltage on either side of the fuse with the red lead.
Thank you for the lead on the wire. It wasn't cut or twisted it was just flat out disconnected. My truck hasn't been broken into but maybe they were coming back or something. At any rate, thank you again that's fixed it.

That wire typically doesn't just become disconnected, glad horn is working again, but IMO, I would take extra steps to make it difficult to get at the connection again.
Ours quit working too. I thought a critter had chewed on the wire, but it turned out BOTH horns had just failed (probably 1 at a time, but I don't use the horn all that much). I ended up buying 2 new horns (one high-tone, and one low-tone). Was not too big a deal replacing them, but you do have to remove the grill to get to them.
