Hi everyone last week I bought a 2007 f450 how ever it is having some issues now-when I put it in drive it will go until I get to about 5 miles then the truck starts shuttering real bad I stepped on the gas and it straightened out for a bit then it went back to shuttering real bad like if I was running over tires or something I thought it was my front end but it seems to be a transmission problem. no check engine light, the truck has 147k on it and up to date on all maintenance. I am trying to stay positive being I just bought the truck. Any suggestions ? Thanks
Ordered a scanner. Did not fix the noise coming from the relay just pulled it out then it stopped. I didn’t think it was relevant to put the relay issue after researching the relay it is for the auxiliary lights possibly. Did not get any info on that forum so I’m trying this one.
Scan for codes with one of the tools suggested (get a cheap one and it will probably be of no help) and you will have a better chance for getting help. It is a good chance that it isn't even transmission related, especially if the tow/haul light isn't flashing. We are waiting on the results. Plenty of help there and here, people just hate to guess.
As stated over there, the noisy relay was clearly aftermarket and pulling it was suggested, that seemed like help. Best way to help is to help avoid GUESSING!
I was able to borrow a scanner from my brother. I posted some pictures on the faults it had in the system. Sorry about the glare. I have never used one of these, but see if this is the right info I need for you all.
Yes one of the terminals was corroded a lot I don’t know if that has anything to do with it, but I am cleaning it all up inspecting both sides and I’m going to have to get a different scanner
Well guys I found out what was wrong with the transmission issue that I thought it had - it had a bent driveshaft and a torn center mount not really sure how that rear driveshaft got bent like that I will attach a picture of it. I finished it up today. I am very happy it wasn’t the transmission. I have been busy with work and really no time to address the issues. Put the batteries on a trickle charger cleaned all terminals. The only two codes. I’m getting now is. The cylinder
and the glow plug issue. I originally ordered a scanner. It was not correct. Then I found out it was the driveshaft so I had to order a driveshaft. I’m going to have to hold off on getting the scanner for now. That driveshaft was super expensive. I am getting a lot of black and white smoke at idle and on the road. I went ahead checked the air filter replaced the fuel filters. Tried to delete that sound for code, but it came right back on. I don’t have no check engine light on.
