Hi, new to this forum. I am currently rewiring a 1963 f100 4x4. Im using a wiring kit from Speedway Motors, which is GM based. I bought a new ignition switch and a pigtail for it but Im having problems figuring out which wire is which on the pigtail. Theres a yellow one, a red and green one, and a red and blue one. Trying to figure out which is bat, ignition, and accessory.
Thanks
Nate
The yellow wire is the battery wire that supplies power to the switch.
Red/blue is the wire to the starter solenoid.
Red/green is power to the coil via a resistor. This resistor is often eliminated in higher energy non-points systems.
Accessories is the center post terminal on the ignition switch so none of the pigtail wires. Install the pigtail connector on the ignition switch first and then you can use one or more ring terminals on the center post that sticks through the connector.
