I know it's been asked before but I have not been able to find what I'm looking for so, here is the question/request.
I need help identifying or picking headers for my truck and I have been told they need to be shorties.
1977 F150 4x4 with 351m automatic
what headers am I looking for? Anyone have a link?
heade4smy buddy has BBK Shorties on a 302 but I'm not sure they would work and, the ones I found do not look like his.
I don't know about shorties, but it generally chassis or fenderwell headers. Chassis exit headers are a complete pain in the butt to install & usually hang to low to clear the trans crossmember. Fenderwell headers ate super simple to install, but will like require trimming the rear of the inner fender. Takes a couple of minutes with tin snips or a death wheel. I have both styles & will never do chassis exit again.
I have a ‘79 351w had long tubes on them but they rusted out. Tried swapping new long tubes in but didn’t fit and I would have had to bang the crap out of them with a sledge. Decided to go with BBK shorty headers to black widow neighbor haters. A lot easier to get them to fit and custom make the system.
