Unhappy Code PO308...what's up with that?!

My 2001 F150 threw this code: PO308-misfire detected cylinder 8. It happend yesterday while driving on the highway at about 55-65 mph. I tried to accelerate and the truck moves like a slug! I have about 56,000 miles on it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you-

code308........
well i had the same code exept it was a code 303 (misfire in #3 cyl) my wife had the truck(98 f-150) taken to a dealer ship while i was overseas recently. they got the same code and replaced the plug wires and passenger side coil pack.
the problem went away temporarily. the "check engine" light came on again 200 miles after the repairs were done.
i bought a scanner and got the same code and actualloy checked the plugs, i found that #3 had barely been firing at all so i chaged it and it runs just like new. i guess you should check your plugs extremely close! also the 4.6 and 5.4 are prone to water damage to plugs as well due to the plug well the sit down into.
sorry this was so long winded but if i didn't check for myself i would be taking it to a dealer again.
good luck................finnmax
