Trying to decide between Bilstein 4600 or 5100 for my stock 2015 F350 PSD, 4x4, RWD, no lift, towing 12000 lbs travel trailer, 1200 lbs max hitch weight, mostly highway driving.
TIA
Rick
While I've never used the 4600's for a comparison, I currently have the 5100's on two different diesel trucks and I'm more than happy with them on both trucks.
...
Edit: I see you listed 4x4 and RWD. Below is for 2WD/RWD
Finding a 5100(front) for 2WD / stock height seems to be a bit challenging. The 4600 front (24-197779) is readily listed (15" Extended length / 10.26" Compressed).
Either shock(they're practically the same) will work great, but I'd make sure whatever you choose has the proper length/specs.
I called Bilsteins for our stock 2016 F250 6.7 Super crew standard box We pull a 12,500 5th wheel
5100 or 4600 on rear either is fine
But on front they do not recommend the 5100
They said 4600 only. Something about the valving or stroke compression rate/ rebound. Thats what's on ours and we are happy with them 4600 on front 5100 on rear
Truck rides best hauling our 5th.
IMO do the adjustable Rancho 9000s. Your truck will ride like a Cadillac. Turn adjuster down to 1 or 2 for normal driving turn them up for HD action. Experiment.
I absolutely love them in my 250. Rides like a totally different truck.
If you go this way pull the adjuster ***** off and pack them with bearing grease otherwise they will seize up.
