I have a 2001 Ltd with the usual dents and scuffs, 200,000 miles, everything works, some cancer on the rockers but the rest is rust free (Southern TrucK)
I had one plug blow out a couple years ago. I bought the Calvan kit and watched the video and fixed the one plug.
Do ya'll i'd get much more money for it if i did all 10 along with new plugs?
I think in my market it's worth $3-5000
Knowing what I know about these engines I would certainly pay a few dollars more for a truck that's had this done but I'm curious what ya'll think about the average buyer?
Doesn't add one single cent of value. Might be a selling point to a knowledgeable buyer that would make them buy yours over another one they're looking at, but doesn't add value at all.
...
I think that it would be a good selling/buying point for a prospective buyer that is aware of the early plug hole issues, however I think most folks are not aware of the issue, so not as much value to them.
IMO,
it would not effect the buyer's decision at all.
I bought a 2000 F-150 w/o even looking up what kind of engine it had in it.
It had just had the entire front suspension replaced, and I was tickled pink with how the truck drove.
then it lost a sprark coil, I bought the coil and asked for set of Spark Plugs.
the counter guy at NAPA said "you do not want to do that, the holes will strip out and you will to heli-coil them"
that ended that thought.
a month later, the wiper motor caught fire, I sold the truck for $1,000 as is.
