So i bought this cool 1987 broncoii 5 speed 4x4 and the guy i had bought it from said it just needed a new fueling system so i replaced everything from the back to the front. Then all looked well so i tried to turn it over and it didn't want to so i got my dad to spray starting fluid in there and still nothing. He said its most likely the spark system which is weird because it turned over when we first got it with 2 broken spark plugs bad oil and it had been sittin for 20 years. So i looked at all the wiring and stuff but i have yet to actually test anything with our odometer. I replaced the distributor cap the rotor and plugs. Please contact me at Taylorgodley1121@Yahoo.com or 928 374 2116
Why did it need a new fuel system? Do you hear the fuel pump turn on? How much fuel pressure do you have at the fuel rail? The truck had been sitting for 20 years? Did you replace the fuel injectors? I don’t suppose you checked for spark after the starting fluid didn’t work. There may not be but are there any fault codes from trying to start the engine? I don’t think the odometer is going to tell you anything except the mileage.
87 Bronco. you might start by looking inside the dist. the distributor pick up coils that year were no good. If it is a chalky white color, replace it. The leads would short out and kill the ign system. Module is another good candidate for no spark followed by the ign coil.
Once you get spark, add ether for a bark. If the starter is worn down and cranking too slow, it can also drain off battery voltage causing a no start because the ECM is not getting the proper voltage to fire the Injectors.
I'm having issues almost the same. Except I have covered all my bases except 1..the computer really?
Yes. If you have a 1987 Ford and the computer hasn't been serviced to repair leaking capacitors etc. It is 99.999% certain it needs to be done. Before it is destroyed fully by time. It's 15 bucks DIY or 200 sent in.

The OP had a 1987 B2. Asked a question then never returned. Major has a ‘90 B2 but hasn’t provided any information other than my saying truck is doing the same thing.
