Hello from Germany

Hello everyone,

My name is Markus, born in 1992, married and father of a little boy.
I live in Germany in a small village called Atzenhausen.

I've been wrenching on Fords for over 13 years now. I started in 2011 as a balance to my training and out of great interest in automotive technology.
I started with a Mustang III from 1979, which was restored and received the blessing of the german TÜV in May 2014.
For all those who do not know the German Tüv. This is an organization that checks the vehicle condition every 2 years and checks and approves all vehicle conversions. If the vehicle is in poor condition, it will not receive a TÜV certificate and may no longer be used on the road. If the conversions are not approved or are too extravagant, they are not permitted. Likewise, nothing may be installed for which there are no test documents.

This was followed by a Mustang V in order to have an adequate Daily. Several second / winter cars later, I fell in love with a second-generation Explorer.
One evening, I stumbled across an ad for a Mustang IV that had been involved in an accident. A few days later, it was at home...and this spring it had already receive the second test cycle at the german TÜV.
Something similar happened to me again last year in February. This time, however, it was a Mustang II, old and without an engine. It is now waiting in the workshop for further work.
In addition to all the Fords, I also have an Audi for vacation trips or other routes where I don't have to refuel every 400 km at the latest.
But the German car annoys me a bit and so I decided to buy a Ford expedition from 2000.
It's a 4.6 2wd and it needs a little love to fix it and remove all the rust

The hobby is a blessing and a curse at the same time. (My wife also says  ) Always new challenges and new jobs.
So far I've had almost everything in my hands in one way or another, disassembled and repaired it and I'm looking forward to everything that may come and to being able to receive and give help and support.

The trailer is pulled by one of the largest German SUVs from Volkswagen, it looks very small compared to the expedition.

Wow, great to see a 2WD 4.6 Expedition go to a good home . . . and so far away from its first home as well! In the US, the 4.6 Expeditions tended to be used up and thrown out long ago. It should serve you well if maintained and not beaten a lot! Be sure to check out the "1997-2006 Expedition & Navigator" forum.

I have to say: Yes it does look big behind the Touareg, and to my American eyes it looks a little odd to have the Expedition on the strange European trailer being towed by a VW. Out here, Touaregs seldom tow anything.

They do
occasionally though:

Welcome aboard!
