If it has been tightly sealed you should be fine. I've used years old paint with no problems. You may want to take it to a paint store & have them put it on their shaker for a few minutes.

To answer a couple of the many questions in this post.
Let me first say .... The reason for stripping old paint before repainting is YOU DO NOT WANT TO PUT GOOD PAINT OVER BAD. The top coats are only as good as what is underneath them. You know... "the weakest link in the chain ". If the old paint is delaminating, peeling whatever; it will generally continue to do so at some point with the nice new paint over the top of it. Poor adhesion in one of the coats ..... new or old paint is the downfall.

Tbear.... " I don't know what he used but in short time, the paint was popping off the primer he used, in specks like rain drops". That is called "Solvent Popping". Solvents in the primer used were trapped in the primer; meaning the solvents had not evaporated or dried completely before top coating. The solvents (thinner) continued to try to evaporate after the top color coats were applied. The little "pops" is solvents evaporating. Solvents, also in attempting to evaporate, will,at times,"wash out" an adhesion layer between coats of product.

F250.... As Scottscott said and also If stored in a place where the extreme cold has not affected it.

Tricky business this painting stuff at time. Good luck all.

I didn't know the term, but I kind of figured what was going on. I do know if ever I get it redone, it all must come off. Car runs great, has only 120K, and I may one not so hot day work on the roof and hood if Roy doesn't want to, and put something on it ... or I may end up just giving it away, let some kid mess with it? Might give it to the local Vo-Tech shop?

Thank You.
