No paint under hood

No paint under hood
Just noticed on our 21 f250 that there is no paint under hood or on edges of front finders.it all flat black Is this normal?

What color is your truck?

all panels are painted. The inside doesn’t get clear coat.

your paint can look quite a bit different without clear coat.

Paint color is valicty blue and you can see over spray in some places on the black.

My 2022 Atlas Blue also has no paint on bottom of the hood. Whatever... its got paint where it counts.

Doesn't bother me just curious if its normal. Also guess it's hit and miss on underhood insulation. Have seen some with and some without. Mine has none.

It appears Ford stopped color painting the under non-visible side of the hood a couple of years ago. Saves them about thirty-five cents

You shouldn't see underhood insulation on any Super Duty past 2019 model year. From what I've read and seen, what you're describing of the paint is normal. It's not that there is no paint, it's just a base coat or primer.

Gee ... I wonder if I'll miss the under hood insulation mat and night light on my 2017 after the 2022 arrives. Will probably miss the color adjustment of interior ambient lighting more ... then again, after setting it, never desired to change it.

My Iconic Silver truck is painted silver under the hood but no clearcoat.

Need to complete the look with blacked-out tailgate and door jambs, plus the panels where the bed and cab meet. Would go well with the black wheels fad.
