Bed length,engine decision

Good Morning (EST),

I would like to thank everyone who answered this post. Your information was very helpful and definitely helped me in configuring my truck.

I ordered the truck last night and I feel real good about the deal! The dealer said that it would be cutting it close to make the Mar. 3 rebate deadline, but that I could back out if the rebates at delivery were unacceptable(in writing!). He said it is likely that the rebates may even be better. I was very confident in ordering from this dealership, it is also the closest to my house!

Here is what I ordered: F250 CC Lariat V10 LB w/ Camper package, Skid package, A/T, Adjustable pedals,Roof lights,Shift on the fly 4X4, Heated Trailer Tow mirrors, Reverse aid sensor, and trailer hitch. The colors will be Dk. Green over Arizona beige.

The gas definitely made more sense for my needs and judging from the many posts on FTE, I would not suffer too much loss in mpg compared to the 5.4. I went with the long bed for four reasons- a) bigger fuel tank! b) I buy alot of 4X8 sheets for building and do some landscaping c) low cost option ($200) d) its there if I need more room! I'll learn to deal with city driving!

Sorry for the long post, but this is my first pickup and I am psyched!!! Thanks again for your comments, I definitely used your info. in my decisions. Look forward to talking to everyone on FTE!

Mike

Does it come with a separate clock for the bed? Because of the length, you will need to set one clock for each timezone!

Just kidding.
Enjoy the truck!

You're gonna love that truck! I've got a supercab, long bed, (not much shorter than yours) and I drive it in downtown Minneapolis with no problems. Like you said, it just takes some getting used to. And when you get really good, you can even do it making legal turns into the first lane, not the wide illegal ones into the second lane that even the lazy Honda Accord drivers do. God, those people drive me nuts.
Also, I have the 5.4 and you're not going to get any worse gas mileage than I get. You might even just beat it.
Have fun!

crew long bed is 15" longer than a subercab longbed!

to be honest... u-turns are a b!tch.

just put 30" of lift and some 52" tires and monster truck over the cars in your way

Not until my kids get older and I want the extra cab space... until then, I will stick with my little 20.5 foot long truck!

nice configuration mike!

forty will help you figure out the ESOF, he is a natural with that kind of stuff!

reverse aid sensor... i heard yeti has one of those... but i don't think you have the same kind he does.... his weighs the bed down at about 3/4 of a metric ton.

post some pics when you take delivery!!
