F350 overdrive shift button

Hi. I tried seaching the forum as I'm sure this has been discussed in the past but I couldn't find any results. My 93 F350 I bought last yr, the overdrive button on the end of shifter has not worked since I've owned it. I tried replacing the button but that didn't help. Any advice on what might be wrong or where to look to get it working properly? Thanks

Quite often the wires break where the enter the shift handle inside the shift column. Remove the plastic cover from the column and repair the wires.
