Hi guys I hope you all well, first of all I have Ford F150 2005 XLT 5.4 triton, MY BIGGEST PROBLEM IS when I move the selector from 2H to 4H it's goes fine. However, sometimes when I move from 4H to 4L it won't engage, but the MAIN issue is disengage from 4L to 4H it's pain in the 🍑, please guys I Fedup rolling try to disengage it.
Your transfer case is either a manual, or electronic shift & of course they behave differently.
Assuming you have the electronic shift, these little solenoids/motors are known to be temperamental.
Your first steps to diagnose is to determine where the problem is. The 4x4 system on an F-150 is weak compared to a solid front axle, but it is still very capable for light duty.
Based on your description, it seems like the transfer case will engage in high & if your front hubs & solenoids engage then your problem is "likely" with the shift motor.
