I have a couple other posts similar to this one, but the more I keep reading the more questions I get. I plan on building another 302 to go into my 91 F150 2WD ext cab w/ E4OD tranny. I have 31 inch tires and 3.55 non-limited slip rear. I'm going to build from a donor motor from a junkyard. I want to stay with speed density because it looks too expensive/difficult to convert to MAF with my tranny. Would like input on cam, upper/lower intake and what type of pistons to use. I already plan on using GT40P heads and thought about building a roller motor. Should I start with a roller motor from a 97-2001 Explorer/Mountaineer that already has the GT40P heads? The truck will be a daily driver that will be used for construction and the occassional trailer pulling. There is no need to be able to win a drag racing. Thanks.
how about a 351 build up. it will bolt right in place with no mods. it has more torque to pull loads. the 302 is a great engine, don't get me wrong, i built my own with plenty of pep. but it is going out of the truck and into the tbird. the 351 is the best way to go.
