Solenoids?

Need your help. I have a 99 PSD 7.3L that has an issue with the staying charged. See JRM 99 Thread Charging issues 11-26-03. I first thought I had a bad alternator or batteries and have to come find out that I believe there is a short. There are 2 solenoid looking like things on the passenger side. The one on the back or closest to the fire wall is getting hot and appears to be killing the battery. There are wires that run in a harness into the valve cover and to the solenoid on the passenger side side wall near the battery. I am un sure what to do. Without knowing what the 2 solenoid looking things are and wether or not the issue can be more extensive than just changing out this one solenoid. Please help.

Glow plug relay. May very well be the problem.

FOR ALL OF YOU WONDERING WHAT HAPPEN IT WAS THE GLOW PLUG RELAY THAT WAS CAUSING ALL THIS. THE RELAY WENT BAD, SHORTING OUT THE BATTERIES SO FAST. ALL CHECKED OUT OK AFTER REPLACING THE RELAY.
