Choke ****/Mount/Cable

Good Morning;

Any ideas on how to transfer Choke **** Assembly/Cable over to a longer control cable? (pics included)

I thought I could do this easily enough But I am unable to remove the Chrome Choke Identifier Flange. I am wondering if it is Pressed on?

Below - the control cable on the Left is the one I want to re-install as the Choke Cable but I want to have that Chrome Choke Identifier Plate to be on that cable as well.

the Right cable has the arrows pointing to that choke Identifier, that round chrome piece will Not come off by hand, is there a trick to get that thing off the threaded shaft so I can transfer it to the cable on the Left?

Below - it reads CHOKE on the bottom side of that chrome piece.

factory choke **** before removal

Below is an extra control cable set-up. I want to install this longer control cable back into the position where the original Choke Cable was mounted. This way if someone down the road wants to put an original motor/carb back into the truck they will have a Choke Cable that will reach the carb, the shorter, original, but has been cut short Choke Cable would not reach an oem carb.

Below is the original choke cable with that Chrome Choke Identifier mounted at the base of the threads that hold it into position on the dash.
This cable has been Cut at the carb end.

The threaded portion and the front bezel are all one piece. Ford only sold the choke control as the complete unit with the ****.

Dennis Carpenter sells similar but has made the **** optional.

If you got it down to something you could chuck up in a lathe you could probably remove metal til you were left with nothing but the bezel.

Yeah, if you are not keeping the cable with the bezel, cut the cable and threads. Place it in a lathe and turn out the center, install on your new cable.

After thinking this over I have decided to Re-install this original choke ****/cable and zip-tie the cable along the firewall as it was before.
Since I have relocated two of the ***** back to the factory under-dash mount bracket... I now have extra holes I need to figure out what may have originally went in those holes. The choke **** will re-fill one of those holes.

To the right of the column would have been 3 holes originally with one of them having had a blanking plate. Someone removed the blanking plate and carved it out some for something. And then added a 4th hole on the left most of those it would seem.

To the left of the column would have been lights, wipers, cigarette lighter - which yours seems to have the socket - and then someone added the 4th right most hole next to the lighter socket.

Cool! - I'm good then, just need to fill the extra holes with some plugs

I haven't been out to the truck in a few days. I have several things lined up to work on on it, first being installing the new ignition switch and make sure it works.
I wont be removing the valve covers anytime soon afterall, I had purchased a new Oil Pan Gasket not valve cover gaskets and Checking the Crank Numbers is going to have to wait for further on down the line.

I also am going to remove the seat, apply Coroseal to the floorboard underneath the seat and to the bottom of the seat at some point.
