Question

I have a 1994 Ford F150 5.0 and it has been acting up on me. It sputters sometimes on starting and when I am driving it it starts to jerk back and forth really hard. Usually this happens when I accelerate and my check engine light comes off and on. When I was looking under the hood I noticed a thin red tubing that was broken. I have replaced the plugs, distributor cap, rotor, and wiring. I have also replaced the the fuel filter a couple of weeks back. I don't know what these tunes are and have attached a picture. If anyone can give me some info I would appreciate it! Thanks

The check engine light tells you that you have a trouble code stored in the computer that'll give you a big hint to your problem.
You can read the code using a paper clip, a paper and pen, and 5 minutes using this tutorial. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...aper-clip.html

Those are vacuum lines. A vacuum leak can cause drivability issues.

Sounds like what my 93 did, like it was running on bad gas.
Opened up computer to find bad capacitors. Replaced caps and all was good again.
I would take a few minutes to runs codes and check out the capacitors before going too far.

Three common things that won't always store a specific code are - leaking capacitors in the ECU/PCM, leaking/clogged vacuum lines, and dirty injectors. They may generate a failure that stores a code, but there really aren't codes for these problems directly. All three of these can cause starting and drivability problems that appear to be due to something else. A clogged air filter could also be added to this list, and even bad gas as Mcleod alluded to.

Pull the computer and check the capacitors. Fix them yourself or get someone who can solder to do it.
The vacuum lines are brittle now, so be careful and don't bend them too much, but a little wiggle can expose a break. If there is a repair, ensure it's not causing a blockage. Make sure the reservoir can isn't rusted through. That's what you have in your first picture.
Run some Seafoam through the fuel to clean the injectors.

After you've done these things problems might remain, but at least these simple items aren't causing them.
