I have an '03 Expedition 'Eddie Bauer' 5.4L. Somehow the memory setting for the outside mirror adjustment was lost. Now, both mirrors move to random locations when each time I start the vehicle, requiring me to manually adjust each mirror. I have tried following the procedure from the manual to set the default mirror location for Drivers 1 and 2. However, you still have the same problem the next time you start the vehicle. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Stop using the Driver 1/2 buttons. The 03 mirror memory has been known to have issues for a long time. I recall we had the dealer do a software update at least twice and the issue always came back. We shut off the reverse mirrors option at least 15 years ago. Then quit using the Driver 1/2 buttons and manually adjust if needed. Thankfully it's always been the primary ride for only 1 of us at a time, so daily adjustment wasn't needed.
Search on Google. You'll find some owners whose mirrors moved almost every time they started the vehicle. Their solution was to set the mirror position and then unplug the power. Hopefully you don't have to go that far.
