Anyone towing a 15k (Mobile Suites 39' fifth wheel or similar weight) with a F350 SRW and 7.3?
Trailer weight 15k+ and max weight rating for CCSB 7.3 gas, 4.30 axle ratio 18200 so this truck should safely tow above trailer OK for moving trailer to job sites, using truck for daily driver, mainly towing trailer infrequently.
For your described usage of a daily driver and occasional towing, it's ideal. Even in the mountains, you'll be fine. If you we're towing daily or weekly, it'd be different.
We just finished a 6500 mile trip out west with a 13.5k 5er with the same truck except a 3.73 axle ratio. You'll be fine. Was very satisfied with the towing performance.
I discovered I was initially looking on the wrong table. When looking at the table for fifth wheel and gooseneck trailers, the Tremor is listed at 28600 GCWR and 21000 max trailer weight, and the Lariat with Sport package and 4.30 axle ratio is listed at 29000 GCWR with max trailer weight at 21400 (short box) so yes this truck will do the job for as little as I would actually be using it to tow the trailer with. I have not been able to find out what a F350 with 7.3 and short box actually weighs on a table, will have to go to a dealership and look on the label on the door jamb. Most dealerships are not carrying higher end trims with the 7.3 on the lots though.
At this time less than 1000 miles (usually) at a time. Basically towing the trailer from wherever I buy it to Houston or Port Arthur possibly into Louisiana but for now to Houston where I am working.
The rest of the time use as a DD. So it looks like the F350 with 4.30 axle ratio will work just fine for my intended usage towing a Mobile Suites with weight of 16600 and hitch weight of 3300.
Now if I was towing this heavy every day touring the country etc. then that would be best done with F450 diesel.
2023 weigh ticket below. F350 with full tank, Retrax bed cover and aftermarket wheels and tires and one 185lb driver in the truck. Maybe 100 lbs of tools. Short box, Lariat Ultimate (no sunroof). Payload sticker says 4,038 on door.

Are you gonna be towing it weekly for couple hundred miles? Or is it gonna be lucky to be rowed 1k miles a year?

F350 DRW diesel would be more than adequate than 450 other than maybe an extra point turn when getting into a tighter location.

Do-able?
Have you weighed the DRV? They are some of the heaviest fifth wheels on the market. Would the 15k be your dry weight? I'd be curious what the actual loaded weight of the rv is ready to travel.
DRV Mobile Suites likely be 17k ready to travel. I will be looking at fifth wheels to see what is available, at best weight to quality for extended living in the trailer.

Here is what I would recommend so you know what you can be expect to be hooking up to when travel ready. Figure out what floorplan/model you want. Google loaded weights of that particular model so you can see what others have reported from cat scales. I bet you will be shocked how much heavier it is than you might be expecting. I wish someone would have told me that when I was about to purchase our first 5th wheel rv. I had a lot to learn in s short amount of time. Rv salespeople and even Ford salespeople are so completely clueless as well so don't trust anything they say unless it's verified.
