Tabco Cab Mounts

Finally getting around to doing the cab mounts on my 79. Never done this before so brace yourself for a dumb question. Is what Tabco sells below a cab mount? I saw someone in another post mention it was just a cover for a failing mount. When I ordered I just assumed it was a single piece redesign.

i need to do this too, if i had to guess i would say this is a REAR cab mount as the fronts look way different with a much taller looking pyramid area that points down from the front cab floor which is at about 45 degree angle.
unless this angle just makes it look flat?

It fits the floor pan contour. I don’t see where Tabco sells a set that looks like the OEM, so that’s odd. I would think they would if this is indeed a cover as someone said in an older thread. The description just says: Front Cab Mount O.E. Type 23Lx20W

I guess I will shoot them a message and cross my fingers on a reply.

Yes, that is a front cab mount. If you remove the inner wheel liner you will see the access window/door (just above the hole in your picture) facing you. The door is removed to access the cab mount bolts. The panel itself goes under the cab floor. The cab floor is spot welded to it.

I don't have pictures at the moment. I'll try to dig some up.

Thanks John. I have the cab off and have already done the floor pans and rockers. I was looking up how to make sure I align them correctly and came across that post I mentioned. It got me second guessing myself since the original design does seem to look a bit stronger than this single piece design, so I wanted to make sure.

I hope you took measurements where this mount fit being the cab is off the frame.
I remember someone saying they took measurements from the lip on the fire wall I think so they knew where to place it.
If you get it to high or low it will throw off how the nose fits the cab / doors.
Good luck
