windshield trim
Howdy from hawaii. Im tryin to get my truck registered here but they wont pass it because of the cracked windshield. No prob. I get on the horn and order a new one and it finally gets here but I got a couple questions before I dive in. Does this type of windshield use an actual rubber seal or gasket or does it just use the black sealant stuff. Also, I cant seem to be able to remove the lower chrome trim piece. I got the top and sides but cant get at that lower piece. Is there a certain tool or method to pop it out without damage?

They make a special tool to remove the clip that holds the chrome trim around the windshield, what it does is squeeze the clip so you're able to remove and can use the same tool to install it. SOme windshields are installed from the bottom lip - upwards in a rubber gasket that is sealed with Windshield epoxy...in the rubber seal before the windshield is inserted into the cab frame. I am not sure what the name was that it was called.....but that is what is used to do it.
