Hello all you Ford Lovers, I just joined here from western Canada
I just picked up my 1st classic truck, a 76 F150 Ranger, auto, with 118,000 miles on it, similar to one i grew up with on the farm. Supposedly it has a 390 but S/N says 360 so unless it was swapped out i got duped?
She looks prettier than she runs at the moment but it is 50 ish yrs old and dont think its been on the road recently judging from date code DOT R7R7 MB2, on Mickey Thompson Sportman S/T tires seemingly from 2007?
SO i have never seen wheels like this before let alone ones in near mint shape?
anyone know what they are? just bottom of the line nicely painted steelies or something rare worth some coin?
A. Things that need attention asap; carb tune up[filter was full of grainy rust], muffler is rotted, pinhole in radiator, tires cracking, signal lights, steering wanders, sunroof or lights leaked at carwash.
B. things to fix down the road; fr cab mounts rotting, dr floorpan has a hole, pass rear fender rusted thru, carpet faded, seat starting to crack, minor cracks in windshield, no sound system, might need gas tank cleaning/replace.
C. I already replaced; fuel filter and added new clear inline one, rear brake line damaged in transport, replaced alt belt, topped up tranny and brake fluid, replaced brake booster vac hose and plugged off all other vac lines.
Are they all chrome with a nice chrome center cap or just painted steelies with a chrome center cap? I can not tell from this angle, they look all chrome to me.
Not sure about USA, but in canada i bet getting those dipped would be $200 cdn /wheel, hardly worth it when many nice 5 spokes are under 2oo/wheel. hardly seems worth it.
Yes your pattern should be 5x 5 1/2 inches. I'm not sure on the center bore, that could have different requirements for 4x4 vs 2 wheel drive. Personally I'd rather go 17" than 16" because I think there's more tire options in that size and it's still not a huge custom offsets looking size. There may be less modern looking wheels in those sizes, but Ford, Dodge and Jeep all used that bolt pattern for quite a while back in the day so I'd expect to still be able to get wheels that size, just gotta be careful with offset and center bore since the different brands did things slightly differently.
WOW MAN, things are getting even more expensive in canada.
Gas just jumped to 168.9 /L from 157.9, my fav chips shrinkflations - minus 25% of the calories for same price and its gonna be 1400cdn installed for new tires 255/60R15s bf goodrich TAs
OR if i wanna go online for tires and wheels its gonna be 2764cdn for 17x8 wheels with same size tires. that defintely doesnt inc install on truck which i can do but may not even inc install tire on wheel and balanced!
