Common upgrades for reliability OBS 7.3

What are some things I could upgrade to make my truck even more reliable? I just put in a Mellings lpop. (looking into the dieselsite high volume lpop.) new harmonic balancer. ( going to look into a fluid dampner.) Has ebpv delete pedestal. ( done by previous owner.) Have the oil cross over kit.( just not installed yet.) Planning on doing the 6637 air filter. (Has K and N cold air intake from previous owner.). New IPR from RiffRaff. Looking into new injectors not trying to make crazy power just want to not have to worry. I know there's nothing we can do about the icp ipr and cps sensors going bad.

Efuel is a good mod, Look at fuel tanks for decroded shower heads, look at pos/neg battery cables, front end everything should be inspected, power steering lines looked at closely, grounds cleaned and inspected, idler pulleys, all u joints inspected, carrier bearing inspected. I could go on and on but basically look the entire truck over.

yeah, unfortunately I let my excitment for the truck over look alot. Ive been wanting one since i was about 8. Im about to turn 29 so i bought one and had a bad harmonic balancer, center bearing, had to get new rear forward leaf spring mounts, found holes in the frame behind that cut it out welded in patches. I did the oil pump just because I was already there and why not.

My truck was pretty clapped out too. Luckily to PO took care of the engine and interior but let pretty much everything else go.

yeah it runs like a top other than a random Idle surge of like 30 rpms. Which is why I replaced the ipr thinking maybe that. Then changed camshaft sensor thinking it was that wasnt either and does it with the icp unplugged. When I bought it, what sold me was the ac worked lol and cab corners and rockers are in good shape wheel wells and front fenders are badish.

In my experience a idle surge is usually due to an injector not spraying correctly at idle, the cure to that problem in my case was a brand new set of AC injectors (160/0),

Adding in a tuner will get you about 50 HP more
thats a 25% increase
it will make more heat if you tow and can burn out things if no pyrometer

work out the bugs you have and get a compression test done before you do injectors

Is there any specific pyrometer to get or stay away from? Or one that you would suggest over others? Thanks in adavance!

With gauges, you get what you pay for. Personally I like the Ispro brand. Great quality. Autometer are also good. On the lower end of quality, I rank the Glowshift there. Unless they have upped their quality, I would not buy them again.
