1995 F-250 7.3L with 385k miles. My wife was driving the rig this weekend while I was out of town, and experienced a range of issues I'm having trouble diagnosing.
At first the battery was low, so a neighbor hooked up jumper cables and it took 30 minutes before it would start. As she was driving, she noticed the speedometer wasn't working, as well as the other dials/displays. She was driving secondary streets and never got up over 40mph, but the truck was shifting at irregular RPM's and the shifts felt rough. After maybe 5 minutes of driving the engine quit and she pulled to the side of the road, then had it towed back to our house. At present if I try to start it, there isn't enough battery to even light the dash. Maybe a battery issue, but they're only a year old or so. Any ideas where to start?
