Does anyone have a good how to video on replacing bearings in the tilt column? I've noticed that the steering wheel can be moved side to side or up and down. A little research tells me the bearing have gone to pot. I found one video on YouTube, not this exact year, but it may be close enough. The guy took out the whole assembly and replaced the bottom bearing as well. I'm not sure that is needed, it would be a lot less trouble to just replace the upper one. He had done it before, and it didn't go all that smoothly for him, plus I'm having trouble finding the right parts to order on parts.ford,com. Going to the dealer might become neccesary just to get the right info.

Might help if you told people what you're working on.
Of course there are difference between model years under the skin, but I was thinking in this instance they have to basically the same for someone to offer some helpful advice. Please excuse my oversight by not posting the make and model. My truck used to be listed in my signature, but maybe it’s not there anymore. Thank you for asking for details

The trim level is important to know if it's a manual column or a power column. Plus, the truck world seems to be notorious for making them all look alike on the outside but making updates and changes as each new MY comes out. Details are important especially if you're looking for help from a tech.
Now that I have posted that information, no one has answered my question. I understand that happens sometimes, maybe there is no helpful info out there. I’ll figure it out.
Lol, well maybe, or I could break something unintentionally. It would also be helpful to have parts on hand to avoid having the truck sidelined for days.

So you say, however I did apologize for not thinking my question through enough. Additionally, I previously stated that I had expected my vehicle info to be in my signature.

You have 4 vehicles listed in your signature. One of which does match this forum year span. By assuming all of these 2009-2014 trucks are the same was your 1st mistake. Your 2nd mistake was forcing other people to also assume that's the one you meant.
Let me explain why that's a problem.
A lot of people access this site via mobile. Those people can't see signatures at all and we've had people come in here many times start feeding out info without actually stating what they were working on (sound familiar?) forcing everyone to assume they meant the vehicle in their signature only to find out they were talking about their other vehicle they assumed was the same just because it's a ford body on frame of the same year (Expedition in that case). All of our time posting various methods of diagnosing the problem was wasted due to this person assuming something was the same. Therefore I will NEVER assume anything.
Here's an eye opener for you, you drive a rolling multiplexed network of computers, it only looks like a truck. What you could have received for free in here is now going to cost you because of an attitude you came in with.
Try to remember when you're looking for information, ... don't disrespect the people that have that information.
@RLXXI I think I’ve been on this forum for around 25 or more years and have had nothing but positive experiences and helpful advice. But you have assumed I am a jerk and have taken it upon yourself to use this thread to chastise me. Are you trying to be helpful here or what exactly is your point? I feel like this has gotten too personal, so I’m done listening to your helpful advice.

@unibody62 25 years and you still haven't learned how to interact with other people. Try this, talk to someone here with the respect you would give them if you were talking face to face. I've had to eat disrespect from *** hats for over 40 years being a mechanic because for some odd reason people seem to think we're dumb or we're crooks etc and undeserving of any respect. Perhaps some of us are. I'm NOT and give my knowledge to those here freely.
Those that at least give back a little respect by answering a simple question like "what are you working on" That's all you had to do. Instead you decide to buck and fight over it thus you get what you give.
Good luck with your truck and have a nice life you'll not waste any more of my time.
