Just reading your own pizzy snarky replies is aiming square at your own feet. IMHO anyone else reading the exchanges might be tempted to let you flail around on your own and leave you to whatever repair you come up with.

For me when I see another post like this that does't mention what vehicle they're asking about I simply move on to another, I won'd dig too deeply into someone's post to try helping.

Good luck with this!

🤦‍♂️ Thanks, I needed that. You know it’s sometimes difficult to determine someone’s tone of voice through the printed word. I will admit (again) that my first remark was flippant, thinking that my specific model wasn’t relevant. I’m thinking, “why is he asking, this forum should be enough”. The posts after that tried to explain myself. I didn’t post any name calling or character assassination, as some folks do. It was too
late, everyone misinterpreted the entire post. Let he who is without sin……. My sincere apologies to everyone, who hasn’t said something they wish they wish they couldn’t take back. In all the years on the forum, I’ve never had another negative remark from another member.

FWIW I've never relied on any "device" available here such as signatures, avatars or sub-forum placement to impart my year, model, chassis and fuel type for those who would be trying to help. As you can see its easy to run a thread or post very off-track by omitting relevant information,

Good luck with your repairs!

For anyone who happened to read this, I solved the problem today. It was a simple fix in the end, because the bearing weren’t shot. Somehow the torx bolt that holds the steering wheel on had just become loose. I removed it, cleaned it, put some blue thread lock on it and tightened it down. No
idea why it would be loose, I’ve had this truck since it was just a couple years old and
never messed with the steering wheel. It was a little tricky to figure out how to remove the horn pad until I found this video. The guy fumbled through the process because it was his first time, but he got it done in the end.
