2024 F-350 6.7. Oil change, fuel filters and tire rotation 575.00. I was expecting somewhere in the 400 range but 575.00 wow. 175.00 labor to change fuel filters. This is my first diesel but I did drive a Semi for 40 years. I never had to service the trucks because they were company owned. I’m by no means an ace mechanic but I have changed oil and filters in cars and trucks, just never diesel’s. Is it that hard to service a F-350 diesel? I know the fuel filters must be done correctly to avoid issues. Thanks

Yep... welcome to dealer prices...
I'll let the Alumina Duty guys comment here, but I have heard of those primary filters mounted on the front of the fuel tanks giving a little issue with getting them off, but not all do from what I've read here... the secondary filter on the engine is not difficult.
If you're worried about the warranty, have a local shop do the oil changes and fuel filter changes, document them on CarFax and you should be good for that. Not sure, but I would think maybe changing it yourself, saving receipts, writing the mileage on the filters when changed, and taking pics should be good enough but Ford could be very strict when it came to service documentation if a problem arose....

That sounds about right. My dealer did the first oil change free and I will use my fordpass points for the next one and fuel filter change, so it should be free. You should have more than enough points from the purchase of your 24 for a free service.
Wow, thats highway robbery there. The parts are expensive, but not THAT expensive. $68 for 3 gallons of oil and another $7 for the extra quart, $17 for the oil filter depending on where you get them (OEM) and $67 for the fuel filter kit (2017+). Thats $159 I spent on mine all from Amazon and it was true OEM Motorcraft. I also replaced the air filter for $57.
Taking your truck to the stealer is just a feel good experience…..they give you coffee and tell you stories.
but if you have a basic tool kit and buy official ford parts and update your on line service record….there is no reason why you can’t do this yourself.
Welcome to diesel life...As the other mentioned, resourcing OEM filters and decent oil is relatively not that bad in costs and keep receipts/photo them/log service intervals. Basic tools, oil filter wrench, catch can for oil and diesel (monthly H20 drain service) - you can do this yourself. There are plenty of resources out there on the Y tube - Powestroke Tech Talk or PTT AROD; then others that walk through the steps of DIY'er. Use the search feature in the tube and G, both will yield your resources and you can determine you confidence or enjoy coffee & stories while you wait, dropping $500.
As I recall, the dealer charged just over $350 for changing the fuel filters. I let them do the first one. I've been doing the rest. As long as you have a 5 gallon bucket, the fuel filter change isn't that bad. Take your time and don't force anything.
Put a Fumoto valve on the oil drain bolt, flip the lever with a 5 gallon bucket under it before bed time, come back in the morning. Nothing that you would pay someone even $50 to do.

What’s the best way to keep records that would be approved by Ford Motor Conif you have a warranty issue? Someone mentioned about recording online? Also would the parts from Docsdiesel.com be an issue if it’s not Motorcraft? They have fuel filter kits a lot cheaper than what the Ford dealership charges.

The parts and prices look interesting but I would be concerned with where they were produced. There is so much garbage coming from you know where, I hope this isn't more of it.
There have been issues posted here on the forum with aftermarket (non-Motorcraft) fuel filters. As critical as these filters are, the few extra bucks for real Motorcraft filters is worth it in my opinion.
I document my at-home service (DIY) on Ford's owner's website. It's also available in the FordPass app.
15 qts Oil $100, Oil Filter $22-25 Fuel Filter about $75 Air Filter $30 Anything above $250 is just paying for labor and mark up. You can change the oil and filters in drive way in 30 minutes. It's not that hard.

I use the service history in Ford pass, however a google spreadsheet and screenshots of receipts would work too.
The cute story and low prices of Doc's aren't worth it to me. Docs is nothing more than a well advertised middleman, the filters are off shore PTC filters. Noting special. Especially for fuel filters, stick with OEM IMHO. Oil, cabin, air I have run Donaldson, Baldwin and OEM without issue.
