Wow, thats highway robbery there. The parts are expensive, but not THAT expensive. $68 for 3 gallons of oil and another $7 for the extra quart, $17 for the oil filter depending on where you get them (OEM) and $67 for the fuel filter kit (2017+). Thats $159 I spent on mine all from Amazon and it was true OEM Motorcraft. I also replaced the air filter for $57.
With no guarantee that the dealer service was actually done.
There are more videos on Utube describing the terrible treatment and pay that dealer service techs are experiencing creating a workforce that takes shortcuts to meet book time.
15 qts Oil $100, Oil Filter $22-25, Fuel Filter about $75, Air Filter $30.
Anything above $250 is just paying for labor and mark up. You can change the oil and filters in drive way in 30 minutes. It's not that hard.
~$250 for filters and oil is a good estimate. All can be done within an hours time so don't know where the extra $325 labor cost is coming from.
Unless they are going by book rate.
Can't imagine paying that much twice a year. I drive my truck so little that I can get by with annual filter, oil changes.
The parts and prices look interesting but I would be concerned with where they were produced. There is so much garbage coming from you know where, I hope this isn't more of it.
Yeah, I'm not getting burned buying OEM filters from Amazon, which I did 2 years ago. My OEM filters are now bought at either the dealer or at Ford parts online retailer.

IIRC OEM list price for the oil filter is like $37 or so, list price for the fuel filters is north of $100, I have seen MC 10w30 going for 8 bucks plus a quart in places. So between the higher list price, labor, oil disposal fee, fee enhancement fee, I can see it hitting those levels pretty quickly.

Based upon the OP post the additional $325 is for the fuel filters and labor to change them, which is about what my dealer charges.
What’s the best way to keep records that would be approved by Ford Motor Conif you have a warranty issue? Someone mentioned about recording online? Also would the parts from Docsdiesel.com be an issue if it’s not Motorcraft? They have fuel filter kits a lot cheaper than what the Ford dealership charges.
I write all the service records on the back page of the Owner's manual. Tire rotations, oil changes, fuel filters, air filter and any major service. If you're at the point where you need to prove anything to Ford Motor Co, you're in for a battle no matter how your record your maintenance.
Also, buy Motorcraft. You're worried about warranty issues in once sentence then looking at buying off-brand parts in the next. It's not worth the hassle, just buy the Motorcraft fuel filters.

Exactly, once you actually look at what MSRP is, it's not too hard to see how a dealer could get there, especially with any sort of mark up. Currently full MSRP on the fuel filter set is $136.35, oil filter $43.62. 15q of Motorcraft 10w30 would be at least $105, and full synthetic (5w40) approaching $200. Labor rates are easily $180/hr if not higher in most places.
So glad I put some of my "stimulus money" to good use and loaded up on 5w-40 and filters. I have about 30 gallons of oil, couple dozen oil filters and a dozen or so fuel filter sets on the shelf in the garage. Gotta save any way you can in this Biden economy!
2024 F-350 6.7. Oil change, fuel filters and tire rotation 575.00. I was expecting somewhere in the 400 range but 575.00 wow. 175.00 labor to change fuel filters. This is my first diesel but I did drive a Semi for 40 years. I never had to service the trucks because they were company owned. I’m by no means an ace mechanic but I have changed oil and filters in cars and trucks, just never diesel’s. Is it that hard to service a F-350 diesel? I know the fuel filters must be done correctly to avoid issues. Thanks
This is what always blows my mind. Fuel filters are $72 online for the set and the job takes literally 10 minutes with basic tools. The dealer is getting $175 for 10 minutes of work? I'm in the wrong line of business. The oil and oil filter are the easiest to access of any engine I've ever seen. Another 10 minutes and $100 for materials. Anything over $250 for this work was highway robbery.

Yep, agree with this. I had my dealer, who has been good for all services, until this one. They changed the oil and filter and did NOTHING else, no inspection, no topping off washer fluid, or clean the batteries. They missed the cracked threads on the front tires. I ripped them a new one on their survey and had the owner contacting me like within 30 minutes. I know the owner pretty well and have been dealing with them since he bought the place over 20 years ago. I told him what was wrong and he took care of it. I had bought a pair of steer tires for it and they mounted them for free. I also had them replace the cabin air filter while they were at it as a show of good faith.
What I learned is I only deal with one service manager there, it is the only way my vehicles get taken care of properly, the other two I don't even look at them anymore. Other than my truck, if I need a winter oil change done, I take it to them, but I do all my own when it isn't freezing cold out.
BTW the Fumoto valve is freaking Awesome. Threw the pan under the truck and reached behind the wheel and opened the valve and walked away. I could replace the filter by turning the front wheels to the left and never need to get under the truck at all.

From year to year, I don't think I ever see the same service writers. I think I've found a good one and he's gone the next time I visit.
I need a Fumoto Valve for my oil filter. Seriously, that is the messiest part of the process. This last time I positioned a 5 gallon bucket under the oil filter and just kept unscrewing it until the filter dropped. It was like dropping a depth charge. Oil flew up from the bucket and hit the engine.
Just for giggles, Type in Fumoto and then see what Chrome spell check wants to change it to.

My local dealer does not like Fumoto drain valves for some reason. They work great in my opinion. I use the tube and drain into empty jugs. For the filter, I loosen it, put a gallon zip lock over the filter as I finish unscrewing. Still makes a bit of a mess, but not too bad. Pour the oil in the bag into one of the jugs & off to recycling.

I don't use this method but thought it wasn’t a bad idea. Get gallon water jug with handle, cut it down some, hold with one hand and twist filter with other. Catch filter berfore big splash, oil still drains out of jug.
