Hello,
I don't know much about cars and don't drive much but I have a question. I just rode in my first Expedition and everytime the guy started to drive fast he would automatically use his left foot on the brake instead of his right. He said that's the best way to drive over rough terrain and he was actually able to stop the Expedition many times with his tire like 4 inches from the edge of a rock or boulder. I never realized a vehicle that large could be handled so precisely, and he wasn't driving slowly, he was doing like 10-15 and thats fast offroad. He told me that if he used his left foot braking something even bigger like an Excursion he'd have much better control and could position that just as precisely as the smaller Expedition.
Do any of you guys use your left foot on the brake? He told me most guys driving this bigger SUVs offroad tend to drive that way.
This technique is useful for any situation, on or off road, when precise vehicle positioning is needed. Backing up a trailer, walking over a big rock, pulling between two close objects, etc.
