I took my bronco sport in for a recall and asked about how to log my oil changes on ford pass. He didn't know how to help and then went in to say that if I have a failure with the engine or transmission or any other oil filled units, if the maintenance doesn't show upon a car fax ford will deny the claim
ive been taking pics of the oil draining and odometer so they both are dated the same day/time. Both my 2022f250 and the bronco
I've done this every time and the service writer says this will not fly and if there is a failure ford will deny
Sounds like someone is just looking to deny a warranty issue before one even arises. Even if one logs a service into FordPass (which apparently isn't possible on the "new" app), couldn't Ford just accuse you of faking it? Like the dealer is basically doing now?

You can log service detail online only now, not via the app. Also, it will not let you upload pictures anymore, i.e. receipts or oil draining, odometer, etc. There are laws protecting the customer. This dealer is full of it.

I agree. This is a dealer I'd avoid.
I generally get The Works oil change/tire rotation done at a dealer. I found that the cost isn't much more than the local fast lube places that don't rotate tires. Plus it's documented in case I ever ran into idiots like the dealer the OP is dealing with.
With 3 vehicles of my own, the wife's ride and various other equipment used oil piles up quickly around here if I do my own. I pay for the convenience.
Carfax is free to use. I have one on all my cars. You can back date all those oil changes as well. You can also use Fuelly to log with Receipts on a paid account, but I think carfax has it as well.
Also BTW, it can only be denied IF it was an oil related issue with an analysis to prove it. The dealer may deny the coverage, but Ford won't, and I doubt the dealer would royally screw themselves by sending in a fake sample. If you have oil analysis done at every oil change, it make it that much more difficult for the dealer and Ford to deny warranty.

I understand that but, having worked at a dealership years ago we used bulk oil, cheapest oil we could get. Not what I want in my car or truck. Also I worked next to guys who wiped off oil filters etc. again not the service I want on my vehicles. And I can still do it for half of what they charge.
I log the date, milage, and what I used on my computer, that's it. I'm not required to have a dealership do it, maintain receipts, or only use Motocraft products. Guess I missed those requirements on my sales contract or in the owner's manual......nope, I didn't miss it because it's not there.

I spoke with a rep at Ford Pass last week who told me they are working on returning that functionality to the app. But in the meantime, yes, online only.
Just go to the Play Store if you have Android or tha App store if you have an iphone and install the Carfax Car care app, and from there its pretty self explanatory. You can do it over the web too, but I find inputting data on the app on my phone easy enough. I've used it for 4 years or so on about 6 vehiclea. Its not perfect but at least you can document your DIY maintenance and see recalls, etc. Not too bad for free!
It's the LAW Baby
The Moss-Magnuson Warranty Act of 1975 forbids manufacturers from voiding warranties unless they can prove that the work was not done or was not done in a workman like manner. As long as you have proof that you purchased the required materials that met the manufacturer's specifications and kept a record of the date and odometer reading when the work was done, the manufacturer must accept that as proof that the work was done
