It's the LAW Baby
The Moss-Magnuson Warranty Act of 1975 forbids manufacturers from voiding warranties unless they can prove that the work was not done or was not done in a workman like manner. Hmm, I didn't bother to look for the carfax app, I just do it online when done since I also do my analysis then as well. I will have to look into that this weekend. Between Fuelly and Carfax I have all the records I need showing the services I have done. The only one I don't document is the wife's Focus, she does her own. I hope. I will have her car on the rack next weekend for a new clutch. Should be interesting, all the clutches I have done the past 40 years were attached to the engine, this one is inside the bell housing attached to the transmission. Got all the tools needed too.
I don't keep records of anything. I tried it with my first couple trucks, but I don't keep them long enough for it to matter.
I keep records for when it was done, but need to input a cost in the app for it to save. It costs what it is going to cost, so that doesnt matter, only the miles and date it was done matters.
