Hopped in the truck one day and a relay started chattering out of no where. Thanks to the forums, I found water and corrosion in my fuse box. Replaced with one from eBay. All same part numbers and everything. Everything is good but the windows stopped working. I can't find any bad switches, fuses, or relays. I also used dielectric grease under the plugs to keep water out. I'm going to keep digging into this but if someone has some tips, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. Oh. I also don't have power at the #7 interior fuse. Ideas?
Assume from the description that none of the windows work. On something like this, I usually start at the switch, perhaps on the drivers door, using a test light or volt meter to see if there is power coming in there.
Also you mentioned rust / corrosion so the ground is also important. If no power at any of the door switches, then you can most likely rule those out, and then work backwards, which next stop would be the fuse box,
and do the same, check for power. In the end it's either bad connection or ground, broken wire, bad relay, bad switch, so gotta check all these to eventually find the issue.
Unless there is some kind of known issue that causes this (ex, broken wires where they run between the door to the cab).
