2008 4.0 Radiator drain plug??

Guys, I am in need of some help on my 2008 4.0 Radiator drain plug. I have FINALLY solved the problem of my leaky thermostat housing.
I've had the drain open MANY, MANY times to drain the coolant in order to work on and replace the thermostat housing.
Opening and closing the drain I guess has caused a seal of some sort in/on it to leak.
I am 125% sure that the radiator is original to the truck and is plastic.
I have been to every parts store in town and even looked online and no one even has a listing for the plug or seal.
What the heck is going on? Certainly the drain plug wasn't made as part of the radiator originally was it?
I have backed the plug out until it just spins and doesn't want to come completely out. I haven't tried to force it out for fear of breaking the darn radiator itself.
Is there not a replacement plug that will fit? I also wonder if an old-fashioned REAL radiator petcock would fit?
Gotta be something I can do short of replacing the whole radiator!
Thanks for any help!!

A few years ago I needed one for a 97 3.0 and found it at Oreily's in the help section it was a Dorman brand. If I remember correctly to get the old one out you have to squeeze the 2 tangs that keep it from coming out together to get it out. Hope that helps.

Thanks Steve!! I was thinking it was like that but not sure now.
I replaced the one on my '99 Super Duty a couple of years ago that was like that.
Looking at the area where the plug goes into the radiator I don't think the longer one that you describe will fit length wise.
I'm going to get/take the old one out today and see what I've got.

Today I bought the Dorman #61141 drain plug.
It isn't 100% exact to my original and its also listed in OEM Motorcraft as fitting the later Escapes, Explorers and such.
I will try & install it tomorrow and report back.

No go on the new Dorman plug which is the same as the OEM Ford one thats for the later Fords.
Looks a lot like my OEM plug but in reality isn't.
I'm going to get a new O ring for it and try & get it back in.
Darn my luck!! WHY isn't this plug serviced?
