Wished I had known that! The "welt" on top of the Lariat seats tends to drive me crazy on a long drive.
Is it possible for someone to post a photo of the reclining seats in the Lariat?
the "break" between the moveable shoulder bolster/wing, and the lumber section of the seat back, creates a "lump" that hits me just below the shoulder blades. it is rather uncomfortable. i wish my truck had the regular seats.
i am not the only one that has had this complaint

I guess everyone's physique is different as I find my seats very comfortable on long drives. This is my first truck with the lie flat seats and I will be ordering them in my next truck. Only used them once when I needed a break and for a couple hour nap they served the purpose.

I thought that shoulder bolster was adjustable, held in place with velcro or straps?
@rjacobs Is this a fact, no massage with layflat seats ?
not true, lie flat or not .... no massage with Lariat ... massage with KR, PLT, LTD (except a bunch of 2023's with supply chain issues that got a $300 rebate instead)
Also, in Fordspeak, lie flat seats = Max Recline Seats ... massage seats = Multicontour Seats
These are the SAME physical seat as the higher end, but they dont get any massage(multicontour) and they are Lariat leather vs. whatever comes in KR, Plati or Limited. Heated and cooled(ventilated) though. No Lariat trim even has the option for massage.
My wife and I had the Multicontour(massage) seats in a 21 Exploder ST we had and after we played with it like once or twice we never messed with it again, just didnt do anything for us. So when we were deciding between loaded up Lariat or a Platinum that was the biggest difference between them and we didnt want the pano-roof, so we saved a few bucks on a loaded lariat instead and love it. We do like the adjustable shoulder wings on these seats though.
My KR has the Max Recline with massage. I agree with others about the bulge at the pivot point. I was able to make slight adjustments to make them tolerable but ultimately would prefer regular seats at this point. I’ve checked others on the lots and some are worse than mine but none have been better. It’s a design flaw on all of them. The top portion doesn’t align properly with the bottom and that causes the transition to not be smooth and you get that bulge. My wife hates them. I don’t mind as much and can get by. Thinking our height difference is the issue. It hits her in a more noticeable spot on her back. I’m taller.
