Hi!
Hi!
I made this post once (I thought) but I’m not sure that it was in the right place so I’m gonna do it again here.
I’m not sure if this is the right forum for me and this is why:
I recently bought a 1963 F350 dually with a chopped top and a welding bed on it BUT it has a 454 crate motor in it.
SO is this the right forum for me? Should I be in a GM forum? Or both? Or what?
I’d like to say thank you and/or I’m sorry (whichever seems appropriate) in advance.

Good to see you here Mr. Coffee.
It's a Good place for the Truck, most likely help with the GM 454 too. 454 4bbl. Carbed?
Is yours one of those with the hole in the intake manifold for exhaust gasses reburn.
I got my Binder to 11 mpg by plugging it.
No problem belonging to the GM forum also for more engine topics.
Which Transmission type, brakes, Drive Axle too.
Belonging to both forums may cut down on blank answer times for the threads you follow.

Thank you, Papa Tiger!
Mr. Coffee was my dad. And I am a Miss Coffee or you can just call me Critter. It’s an honest mistake and I don’t take offense. But to answer your question, I just barely got the truck pulled up to my house and haven’t cleaned the cobwebs out of it yet to really start checking it out. It’s been sitting for awhile and needs some TLC before I can try to start it, but I will post here when I can tell you more.
i know who’s truck it was before he passed away tho’ and knowing him it won’t take too much to make it happen.
Being in the armpit of the Central Valley here in Cali I either have to get up real early or stay up real late to do anything with it right now cuz it’s in the triple digits here.

Hi Miss Critter. Sending condolences to you about Mr. coffee passing. Sure changing motor oil, filter most likely check the fluids closely first. Maybe all you need is g good 12 volt battery charger to start is a great choice. Mr. Coffee may have had everything you need in his place. Lots of times a 50 mile cool and easy trip breaks in a Garaged vehicle well and all it needs is TLC from then.
You are probably right, Papa Tiger. I’m getting ready to go out there and dust it all off and check the fluids. I know that I need to clean the gas tank cuz it is on the bed and doesn’t seem to have a cap on it. Don’t know how many years it’s been gone.
I also don’t see the cables that attach to the battery so I need to see if I can locate them.
Can you tell me if this 63 Ford had the battery located under the passenger’s floor panel? Cuz that’s where it is now.

If it is an original diesel it would have had 2 batteries. I saw batteries under the floorboard also.
Search the truck for the original owners manual, glove compartment, under and behind the seat.
Check EBAY for 350 owner manuals for that period of build might be of help.

Sounds like an interesting vehicle!
Probably a good idea to join GMForum for the GM stuff and Ford Truck Enthusiasts for the Ford stuff. It could at least make answers a little faster.
At FTE, check out the "1961 - 1966 F-100 & Larger F-Series Trucks" forum for the ford stuff.
At GMForum, check out the "GMC/Chevrolet Truck/SUV" forum for GM stuff.
I think we all love pictures!
