need electrical help

new battery, new neg terminal, still nothing works, won't turnover, no dash indicators or gauges active, no lights.

It did start about 3 weeks ago, moved it when painting the house. 3 weeks ago I had to charge it before it would turnover but it did start. Tried to restart after painting and even though I got some bells and dash active would not start even with 24 hrs of charging. You could hear the starter pawl but it would not engage with flywheel. now with a new battery - nothing. is there a fuse or circuit I could have damaged while jumpstarting? .tks/joe

Welcome to the forum! Please let us know what year and model FoMoCo you are working on, and which engine it has. Also, do you have a multimeter that you can you to test for voltage on the battery and across fuses?

Start by cleaning the contact surfaces at the battery (terminals/clamps), retest and recharge

cleaned terminals and removed cables from terminal housing and cleaned corrosion from the cablewhere it connects. reattached cable and started fine without a charege.

There's not much that can be suggested regarding fuses or circuits to check/test without know some details about your Explorer/Mountaineer/Aviator.... FWIW, even if you populate your profile with vehicle information, it does not show up by default when you post. And since many members have more than one vehicle, it's still best to include vehicle specifics in your posts.
