I'm strictly a 2 wheeled rider.
Started off with a '83 suzuki PE175 (2-smoke) then got a '93 Honda XR250L.
Both were decent bikes for learnin' the basics of dirtbikin', but they couldn't keep up with the other bikes I ride with.
About 1½ years ago I got a Kawasaki KLX 300R. That thing rips through the woods and flies up the hills. Since I got that, I've done hill climbs that I used to just look at and say "NO WAY !!" .
I think the biggest reason I don't get into quads is the hillclimbin' part. If ya don't make it on a bike, ya just lay it on it's side and it usually stays there. Quads seem to like to roll all the way to the bottom, end over end over end...... gets a bit pricey by the time it reaches the bottom.

i also have a 98 honda 300 fourtrax. it might go about 53.it is 2wd but it will still go through anything. it has gone through hell. i went on a stepp enbankment, it tipped into the pond sideways with only on grip showing i pushed it over and back as far as i could, enough to get the motor out of water cranked right up it drove out of the water and kept on. it has been flipped. jumped wheelied broke the axle and welded back 2 months later axle broke again. stupid mailboxes came at me and hit me also. but my 88 blaster needs a total bottom end. a gear split and wedged itself in between other gears so you could vision what it looks like.

my friend has an old xr500 that may need either a valve or to be timed for sale.he got a new valve in it but he can not time engines for crap so it probably needs another valve since he tried to crank it without it being in time. he thinks it is electrical but how dumb can he be if it sparks good and blue then it is not electrical. but it is a good and very fast bike when you get the problem figured out

How do you like the auto tranny? Honda hasnt come out with a "big" bike like the polaris, but I cant see myself liking that style of transmission. I do like the electric shift my honda has though (nothing beats ripping through the gears with the foot though)

I dont beat mine. It has been rolled a few, but no deep mud or water. The damn things are too expensive to treat like that. I haul alot of stuff on the farm with them, and hit the trails. We put 40 miles on them in the first twenty four hours just on our property.
