Are you just replacing the u-joint? Or the axle assembly as a whole? Reason I'm asking is the sealing surface of the axle needs a thorough inspection if you are reusing the axle. And for sure replace all the seals.
I’m just replacing the ujoints. I bought the Dana Spicer for it I’ve always been a firm believer in the non greaseable ones they seem to last a long time.
The axle looks to be in great shape on the inner seal surface and the outer needle bearing surface. I’m gonna pack those needle bearings again for safe measure.

Yeah mine had to go. Rust pits everywhere offered no hope of ever providing a good sealing surface during operation.
Well thanks again fellas, new ujoints and seals and she’s almost back together.
On that note I freakin’ broke my dang Warn hub! One of the small Allen bolts seized in place so I had to get creative.. well when I popped the hub off I broke an ear inside that holds the spider. Long story short a need a new hub(s).
Warns again or something else? I see the oem style hubs are dirt cheap on Amazon/Ebay are they any good or junk? I use 4wd fairly often out here in Utah. Just need in/out no auto as my vacuum lines are long gone.
I used to swear by the Mile Marker brand lockouts, until the set I got for my 99SD. They're the SS version, and quality looked great. Honestly they never failed or left me stranded, I just couldn't ever get the cover bolts to stay put. The ***** eventually got pretty hard to turn, but I'm sure that was from the detent ball getting dirty because the dust covers were always getting lose. It got to where i could recognize the sound of one of them rattling telling me it was time to retorque.
