For those that purchased a vehicle from Granger, did they treat you fairly on the value of your trade in? Will be ordering a 25 SD and Granger is one of the dealers on the very short list.
I didn't buy from them but I did get a price and I talked to one of the salesman. Very pleasant and up front. He did not say they wouldn't take a trade but encouraged me to sell my truck on my own. He said it is difficult to set a trade price when dealing long distance as pictures may not show everything needed to determine the value. In reading between the lines I'm assuming he meant any issues could be hidden and they may have been burned a few times. That was one of the reasons I went local. The X Plan price from a local dealer was not as good as Granger's but I knew what I could get in trade up front. I did manage to sell before the new one arrived for a bit more than I was offered on trade but I had no idea if that would happen when I was shopping.

I just traded on my new 250. They are typically a little lower than others, but fair when you consider the good purchase price you get.
That is the thing about buying long distance, trade price can generally only be determined positively upon in person inspection, or they just lowball you.
And, the bigger the discount on the new vehicle, the lower the trade offer will be.
Best bet is to sell your current truck before the new one comes in, of course that doesn't always work out.

Current list;
1. Granger
2. A local dealer, River Bend Ford in S Georgia where I purchhased my current truck but doubt they will be competive.
3. Walterboro Ford in SC who advertises invoice pricing.
4. Dealer in Pennsylvania, can't remember the name, was advertising 3-4% below invoice two years ago.
When the order books open these four will get the call. Hopefully a dealer closer than Granger will be close in price as the 2400 mile round trip is not a pleasant thought.

I purchased my truck at Walterboro Ford from 2 states away. Easiest purchase ever. I highly recommend them compared to big city dealerships here local.
not just Invoice price but no added fees at all like all the BS doc fees stamp fees etc.
I got lucky I purchased an in stock 2022 at Invoice cost when trucks were scarce and marked up locally here in Miami $10k above MSRP.
My Son also purchased a Lariat a couple months later by special order, same deal back in early 2022
both were reserved/ ordered with a $500 deposit over the phone and paperwork ready to go in less than 45 minutes after I arrived at the front door to the Time I drove off.

2400 round trip is only 1200 driving, fly up and drive back.
Done that a couple of times, on a new truck it means all is broken in by the time you get home, and you get the fast track on learning the new ride.
But, a local deal is the best bet if you have to trade in.
Sign up now for some association that gives you a X-plan hookup, then get a price at just a few hundred over invoice.
Of course you have to have 90 days before X-plan is activated.

True. If I end up going with Granger then I will sell my current vehicle myself and fly up. Picked up an EAA membership for X-paln access, so thats a possibility as well.
Granger on a Super Duty order is 2% below invoice. That will most likely be less than X-Plan or EAA.
All you need to do is build the truck you want on Fords website and email the info to them, it's free and no obligation.

Yeah, but that small difference in price, plus a low trade allowance and the trip to get it, can be more than offset by a local X-plan deal.

I guess to some it would be a burden to travel to Granger to get a vehicle. Both trips we made were turned into road trips, made two and a half day trips into four-to-five-day trips.
Not sure for other states but a trade-in in Texas gets a 6.25% bump in value because you don't have to pay tax on that portion. You only pay tax on the difference between the trade-in and new truck.
But yes, generally selling it to another private party ensures the best dollar and eliminates the possibility of the dealer trying to hose you on the deal.
