12 Valve Cummins Swap 1997 F350 4x4 Crew Cab Long Bed
Well, after wire wheeling my life away for the last 5 days and inhaling enough brake cleaner for 5 different types of cancer I started painting today! Definitely won't win any awards, but will be better than the dirt monster I pulled.
Here's the before.

And the after (but not really because there is more to do still)!

Just got primer shot today. Ran out of time for more. Color and clear will go on tomorrow. If you were hoping to see a Cummins swap painted another color other than red for once... I am sorry to disappoint. She'll be red tomorrow!

Also, I've had a major development in the plan for gauges once the new engine is in the truck.
My original plan was to put boost, EGT, and fuel px on a pillar. But I also want a mechanical oil px and coolant temp gauge since the stock Ford one's are dummy gauges. But putting 5 aftermarket gauges somewhere on the dash sounds silly.
Thus, I've been hunting for another option that could show more and be small and concise. I was hoping to stay analog (keeping with the OBS theme), but I'm willing to sacrifice and go digital to keep it neat and concise.
Insert One Gauge: Diesel LCD Screen Pre-Built Kit
I plan to buy their diesel kit, and put the screen right here in the Ford dash. I gave them a call and they said they could provide a 5" screen to fit this area of the dash nicely.

This way I can keep all my stock dash instruments, but monitor endless other options on the side screen. I can even add more later too if I want. The layout is 100% customizable.
If you guys haven't heard of them I highly recommend you check them out.

Sorry for the late upload! Got home late last night!
She's red!

Valve covers and air horn are drying in black wrinkle paint as we speak. Painting P-Pump and lines tomorrow. Lines will be black... Debating about painting the pump black or red. Any votes?

Few questions:
1. Does anyone have the part number for the gasket/seal for the lower cooling outlet? The one that goes between the block and the AC/lower cooling hose bracket? I've searched high and low and all I can find is the one for the upper hose outlet. I've circled it in the picture below for reference.

2. If you guys remember I snapped the old p-pump plastic timing pin when removing the pump. I got the piece out and have a new pin now, but I had to rotate the pump a few times to get the plastic pin out. How do I ensure the pump is at TDC before putting it back on the engine? Do I only need to find the little arm and put the pin back in to hold it? Do I need to worry about it being 180 in or out?
I appreciate the help!
