Does anyone have any pictures or diagrams handy of how a single cab was originally assembled? I’ve got a crew cab that needs some serious repair above the windshield due to previously installed roof accessories. My plan is to section in what I need out of a single cab, ideally replacing the entire windshield surround from the pillars, then going back partway above the doors making the splice at one of the two factory seams visible in the door jamb. In a perfect world I would simply drill out the factory spot welds and remove the section I need, then swap out the rusty one in the crew.
The factory seams are pretty obvious, however I do not know for certain what other structure may lie below, or if it would be better to cut somewhere else entirely. I do know that where the roof meets cab is a sandwiched together mess.
Before I start performing exploratory disassembly on one of my donor cabs I thought it best to ask here.
