Outer rocker front

Had to cut out the front of the outer rocker due to rust. The handful that I’ve seen for sale don’t run the full length of the rocker, just the doorway. I’m needing the part where it reduces and runs under the front cab corner. Anyone have a solution for this or one laying around? It’s for the driver side.

Thanks, that thread was a few years old. I replied hoping the OP had the answer but haven’t heard back. Most of the links were not valid anymore but I did write the parts site they mentioned. Haven’t heard back yet.

Wow, I didn’t know that. I read it last week and thought it was current. When I went to look for it, it was only two pages back, and it doesn’t look like someone resurrected it?

I hope you get an answer, because I’m going to be looking for the same thing on the passenger side.

Yeah, looks like it was posted back in 21. Must have jumped up with my comment.

I’ll keep looking around and let you know if I come across anything.

I have a "parts" cab, not much left we took out the door hinge areas on both sides. But the other day I noticed the cab corners are still good. I need to get back in there and look at the rockers on both sides. Maybe this weekend?

No luck so far finding anyone selling patches. Anyone parting out a cab?

I have 2 spare "parts" cabs, one I have already started hacking to pieces. I will check later on today.

So just how much are you needing? My one parts cab (1st & 2nd pic) is complete and just has the common floor pan rust (both sides), but the rockers and cab corners look good. Once I cut that part out, there goes that cabs stability. So those parts are not going to be cheap.

Now the other parts cab (3rd and 4th pic) already has pieces removed. The door hinge mounts areas were removed by force. Sawzall, torch, grinder, but the cab corners/rockers are still good. Parts from that cab will be cheaper. Let me know, and FYI the heat index is 110* here, so I am not running out and getting them real fast.

Thanks for checking. The part I need is the driver side support, the forward part of the outer rocker. Looks like that has been cut out on the blue cab. I’ll keep checking locally, I’d hate to ruin a mostly good cab for this one piece.

Well if you need just one side, I can hit my local JY and get the piece from them. I can take a sawzall in there, but it is still an area that a lot of panel pieces come together. it can be quite the job to get, as you can see in the pics of that blue cab. Use PAINT to circle the panel you need. Is it like #02039 or #11142. Or more like the bottom part of 02500, where the door hinges bolt onto?

Seems odd they wouldn’t produce this as part of the rocker. My passenger side is rusted as well but I have more confidence that I can patch the top side where this one is rusted out.

the pictures I have are missing the inside, it must have stayed with the inner rocker when I cut it out.

Well, checked out 2 cabs today that were semi close to me. Ended up they were worse than mine. Thinking I’m just going to fab this. Not much confidence in my fab skills but might get rid of the bad stuff so I don’t completely screw it up and can maintain close to the original shape. The part the sticks out from the door is in good shape and the rest is hidden for the most part so hopefully I can live with it.

Well if you end up not liking your fabricated piece, holler and I can hit my local JY for that piece. I am pretty sure that there is a seam right there where the main rocker attaches to that piece you need correct?
