2013 Regen Frequency

My truck started to regen every 125-200 miles and I noticed a small amount of black soot inside the exhaust tip. Dealer told me the aftermarket CAI was causing the problem stating "more air equals more fuel". This does not make sense to me. Any help would be appreciated.

Ive only had first gen 5.9 Cummins powered trucks. but does he realize diesels have no throttle plate? Im thinking the dealer is clueless. Correct me if Im wrong guys.
