As of yesterday my prop rods on my 2010 F250 aren't supporting the weight of the hood to hold it open. The Ford Store's parts guy just rolled his eyes and mumbled something about 'unavailable' and ditched me. Anyone have any suggestions as I begin to dig for these? (Besides looking for another parts guy?)
Google search “lift supports depot” . Thats where everyone in the Excursion section gets their longer lift supports for the rear glass. When my 2010 f250’s hood supports went out, I got a set of hood supports from them for that too.
Post Edit: See link below, I've had these on my 2010 f250 hood for about three years or so now, work good and only $18.
Yeah a lot of Parts Departments at dealers don't carry older parts like that, most people just head over to the local auto parts store and buy what's available. They aren't always the best.
Sometimes you'll find a Parts Department that will do the leg work for you and buy them from the auto parts store (or online) for you...then sell them to you at a marked up price.
