Dana 60 front
I was just wondering way these 78-79 Dana fronts are in such demand, It seems everywere I read guys are looking for them. What are they using them for and what are they really worth$

These fronts are so popular for conversion reasons. They use kingpins, not balljoints. The 88-98 GM trucks like this axle the best for their trucks, so do the F150 guys who do the 1-ton conversion on their rigs. This Dana 60 has a 32" perch-to-perch which is narrower than the 86-98 Ford Dana 60 36"-to-36". The narrower front has a tighter turning circle, and allows more space for radius arms or spring mounting. Avarage $ would be $1000. You can usually find them cheaper if you buy a complete beater truck that someone just wants to get rid of.
