Aiir Conditioning Question?

Hey Guys,

I have this issue. When I have the A/C set on panel and hit the gas, the air stops blowing though the front vents and switches to the front defogger until the engine isn't under a heavy load.

This especially happens when going up hill. It sounds like a vacuum problem, but I don't know where to start to look for a leak or pressure test.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Mike

It does sound so.
Look under the hood on the passenger side where the battery is. Coming out of the firewall, you'll see thin black plastic tubing. Check it for cracks or holes carefully. If the problem is there, cut out the bad section, and join the good pieces with rubber hose available at your nearest parts store.....

for what its worth I will third the vac leak thing...I have seen this prob on many cars and trucks, though most commonly on DC products. check areas of tubing exposed to the el3ements first, they are the first to go. check all fittings on the vac lines, and try the hose trick. (hose to your ear, other end searching for the leak sound, like a make-shift stethascope)

good luck
