Hello all I have a 78 f100 2wd c4 302 engine gave out I bought a donor truck 88 2wd e0d 302. What all will I need to convert for the swap? I have the old engine and tranny out already and I want to keep the truck as original as possible but this will be the 3rd engine so I’m sure a few modifications will be needed. Donor has 75k was running but wrecked in rear engine is solid just efi I want to use my old intake and carb mainly worried about sensors and if I should keep transmission pair together. Thanks

Aquanaut is spot on.
If it's an AOD you'll need to get the setup (looks like a kickdown cable to the carb) to tune the pressure correctly so it shifts right. As far as going from EFI to Carb - use your intake and carb, rip off all of the extras. You'll need a new distributor but you 'should' be able to use the one on your carb's engine. If you are putting in the AOD, it's a different length so you will need to modify the driveshaft (probably cut it 1/2 inch). You'll need a new trans mount also.
If keeping the old transmission (assume a C4) - Careful with the flexplate / flywheel because they are balanced differently from 77 to 88. If you keep the engine/trans combo it won't be a problem.
